A forensic linguistics student at Cardiff University is looking for adults who stammer and have been witnesses in court, and also Registered Intermediaries, to participate in a study.

People who stammer

She is looking for adults who stammer and have been witnesses within the legal system of England or Wales to participate in the study.

The study aims to explore the experience of witnesses who have a stammer and to establish whether people who stammer are offered adequate support within court.

Participants will be required to attend one 30-40 minute long interview on Zoom about their experience as a witness and answer a series of written questions in the days following the interview.

If you are interested in participating or have any further questions please contact her by email Joycech@cardiff.ac.uk .

Registered Intermediaries

She is also looking for SLT trained Registered Intermediaries who have worked within the legal system of England or Wales to participate in this study. It would be particularly useful if you have experience working with people who stammer.

Participants will be required to attend one 30-40 minute long interview on Zoom about their view on the support available for people who stammer within the legal setting.

If you are interested in participating or have any further questions please contact her by email Joycech@cardiff.ac.uk .
